The carb on the left has the new airhorn installed. The airhorn on the right has been plated, but on closer inspection reveals heavy pitting on the top. In fact, the threads for the seat on the backside of the original airhorn are damaged and the airhorn is not usable.
This is the new airhorn with the needle and seat installed (I actually use my checkball valve to replace the needle and seat). Note that the brass fule fitting tightened up with only 6-8 threads. Since the threads are tapered, some used airhorns are not usable as the fuel inlet threads are worn out. This is another advantage to the new airhorn... new threads at the fuel inlet.
This is a view of the new airhorn installed on a 64 GTO. It fit perfectly, and functioned well. The carbs in this picture are not properly colored and are way too dark. Consequently, I did not color the airhorn to match.
New airhorn glass beaded and dyed properly with Eastwood Bronze Carb dye.
