Services I do this as a hobby, not a full time job. So, you will have to email me for prices and timelines. I have been buying, restoring, and selling Pontiac tripowers for many years. My work is guaranteed and I can provide referrences. I sell '64, '65, and '66 units, ready to bolt on. See pics. 1964 Pontiac GTO Tripower

The checkballs can be reversed or stuck, they may have wrong jets or wrong floats. I have found end carbs where a previous owner has substituted a regular 2 barrel floatbowl section. Often, parts from front and rear carbs are mixed up. I glassbead all parts. Carb body can be replated at extra cost. However, most owners choose to have me use the Eastwood Dye which looks very similar. I often remove the throttle shafts and replace the brass screws that attach the throttle blades. After glass beading, throttle bodies are painted correct cast iron grey. Any damaged screws or bolts replaced. New washers are used. Bolts blackened, correct finish. I use the new correct brass floats and replace the needle/seat with improved checkball unit (see FAQ #6). I usually replace all jets. Sometimes the previous owner has "drilled out" the old jets, so they are larger than the number indicates. I use quality kits, replacing all gaskets and the accelerator pump. I put new return springs on the end carbs. Rods and levers are refinished. The choke plate is replated. See the pic of the restored unit for an idea of what the finished carbs look like. Restore your tripower - Your tripower giving you fits? You can send it to me for inspection and an estimate on restoration. Picked up a tripower from a friend, at a swap meet, or on eBay? I can give you a close estimate of restoration costs if I can see pics or if I can speak with you while you have the unit there so I can ask you specific questions. Most of the units I get to restore have many parts missing which I can supply. Often the missing parts include linkage, fuel lines, fittings, choke, and PCV parts. When I restore a set up, I sandblast the intake, replace the block off plate and gasket, replace any damaged studs, and repaint. I restore the carbs (as above), install lines, linkage, choke, and PCV parts. I adjust the linkage and preset fuel/air mixture on center carb. |
