This is the tube that is permanently attached to you intake.  It is actually a loop, that is heated with exhaust gasses in the crossover.  These tubes do rust through occasionally.  When this occurs, you get exhaust gasses in the choke cup, causing condensation and deterioration, eventually freezing up the internal pull-off piston
